Hi,
Some answers have come close to what I need here, but none seem to be exact. I just switched to UVerse and am using a 2wire 610 residential gateway. I access the internet from my laptop wirelessly via the 2wire. I also have an ethernet-capable printer (HP C6200) that is located in a room with no ethernet connection. Right now I connect the laptop to the printer using a short network cable. I still have my older, still-working WNR3500v1 router available and I wanted to set up the WNR3500v1 as a wireless print server for the C6200 so I can print without a cable and not have to choose whether to be connected to the 2wire or to the NetGear (I can't connect to both at the same time). Is that possible? How would I do it? I'm a programmer, not a hardware expert, so I would need help with the steps. Thanks for the help, Wayne |

yes and no
you can do WDS (connecting two devices wirelessly) but you will limited poor WEP encryption. you will be better off by wireless print server or extender(ex wn2000rpt, wn2500rpt, wn3000rp)

Thanks for the response. Do you recommend one or the print server over another? And would it be accessible while connected to the 2wire router and the internet?
Thanks, Wayne |

The printer has it's own print server - what you are attempting is what's known as wireless bridging.
