I currently save all of my iTunes music files to the FamilyLibrary\iTunes folder on my Stora. (I manage the files with Windows Explorer. iTunes automatically manages the folders in the iTunes folder.)
When the media player in my whole-home audio system (non-PC) scans my local network, it finds some of the media files in the iTunes folder of the Stora. I have spoken with tech support for the media player and they say it is a permission problem. When I use Windows file explorer to view the security permissions on the Stora I find that the files and folders that work have a user named "apache". The files and folders that do not have apache do not work. When I create a new folder in the Stora web interface the apache user is a member of the folder. When I create a folder through Windows, the apache user is not there. But, my Stora admin username is there. Can you tell me how to resolve this? |

What is your network player using to access the files? Windows shares, DLNA, UPnP, DAAP (iTunes format)?
If it's DLNA/UPnP it may be that miniDLNA has not picked up the new files. I believe you can fix this like so: In the web GUI, unshare the folders that are shared (Unshare via DMA), then share them again. /Craig |
