Hello,
I came home one day and noticed all my wireless devices had lost connectivity to my Netgear N750 wireless router. The only light on was the power light which was a steady orange color. I tried the following troubleshooting steps with no success: - powered off modem, router, PC and then turned them all on in the same order - hard power reset on router - default factory reset (hold reset button for at least 7 seconds) - connected directly to modem to test ISP (connection worked fine) I've even tried connecting directly to my router via my PC but the ethernet adapter shows it's unplugged and I can't ping the router. Also none of the port lights come on when I connect to the router with a wired cable. It seems like I have a "dead" router. Any suggestions on other things I can try? |

Try a harder reset. 30-30-30 to see if that helps. If not, router may be toast.

Sorry can you please explain what you mean by 30-30-30? 30 seconds? Do you mean hold factory reset for 30 seconds three times consecutively? Thanks for your reply!

Gotta say, this is very disappointing. It just so happens that I passed the 90 day mark on when I purchased this router.
When I trying to ping it I'm still getting, "destination host unreachable". Power light is still solid amber and none of the resetting steps mentioned above even make the orange link BLINK. It's completely unresponsive. Any last ditch ideas? Or am I going to be heading to best buy to buy another router?

if nothing are working with computer wired the router than you have brick unit
I would make sure to try different power supply as well. If you bought unit as refurb then you have limited warranty so that is paying for less.

I appear to have the same problem - though my WNDR4000 was apparently new out of the box ---
( I say 'apparently' because when I rang Netgear UK tech support they said the serial number was already registered to another name! - I'm waiting for the supplier to respond on whether I was sold a return as though new, before trying to go further with Netgear UK on it) -- meanwhile - I'm here to make sure I do actually have a router malfunction. I tried unsuccesfully a few hours ago to get the WNDR4000 to connect - wasn't able to log on to it either - all the time the power light remained amber, even after trying a couple of resets I'll try again soon - my fibre connection is currently in use - however, my question right now is - should the power light at least go green when the router is just powered up and not connected to anything? Currently it's still on amber - don't want to do a hard reset as indicated above -until I've tried everything else - though perhaps it's a riskless procedure |

if your power led light is amber, its a hardware issue

I had the same thing happen with my Netgear G54. It just did it randomly after the wifi stopped and I simply powered off then back on. Now all I get is a solid orange light no matter what I do.
Thing is I jost got it a week ago, brand new, sealed and everything.
