Exclamation Why is Cisco asking for a guest pswd?

Home PC running XP, a WNDR 3300 router, WNDA 3100 adapter, Cisco DPC 3010 cable modem. Can't access Internet b/c I now get a login screen from Cisco that asks for a guest password. Until today, I've never been required to provide a password, much less a GUEST pswd for Cisco. None of the hardware is new and the components have always worked fine together. What's going on, and how do I fix this issue?

Uh, this is the Netgear forum. You need to ask Cisco.

My router and adapter are Netgear. I want to know why Cisco is in the picture. We can't access the Internet.

Again, this is a Netgear forum and you are asking for Cisco assistance.

Cisco is cable modem so only what that it is doing is because you lost the internet possible that cable modem has passing some private ip which do happens time to time by the cable ISP to do that when ISP has networking issues.

1. contact ISP and ask there is one issues on their end.
2. if not try below

1. turn off the cable modem and unplug ethernet cable
2. wait for few min (20min)
3. turn on the cable modem only and do NOT plug any ethernet cable
4. wait until all the light up on cable modem
5. ONLY after all the light is up. hook up a router behind the cable modem
6. you should able to get public IP from the ISP and it will show up in the router status when you login the router.

** remove the BATTERY from the cable modem if built-in and follow from #1~
