Default second disk blocks ReadyNAS Duo.

Hi
I have a ReadyNas duo and got ATA error messages on disk 2. I have tried to replace it with a new similar one, Seagate barracuda 7200 1Tb but now I can net get it to work at all with a second disk inserted.
The NAS does not accept a second drive any more. As soon as I put a second drive in slot 1 or 2 it seems to get stuck, led for the added disk is flashing and I can no longer access the NAS. I leave it turned on for days with a hope on that the synchronization will finish, but not.
With only one disk in place it is working, i.e. I can access the disk (but still the empty slot is indicated with a flashing led).
What am I doing wrong? Any tips of things to try?

Best regards
Jonas

Try running the manufacturers test tools on the drive you took out with the ATA errors. That will let you know if it was the drive or the chassis that cause the ATA failure.

Please also note that this forum is for a long discontinued NAS product, the NetGear Storage Central. The ReadyNAS forums are at http://www.readynas.com/forum and well worth joining and using to ask questions about the ReadyNAS.
