I have a WNDR4500, and a list of about 100,000 sites I like to block from my kids. How do I import all these sites at once into the router settings so all these sites can be blocked?
The sites are in a text file, listed. I should not have to manually input all of these site. HOW can I import??? Chad |

Have you looked at the 'Parental Controls' section instead?
Otherwise you will have to load each individual site one at a time since the config files are now encrypted. Remember that such a list could cause yourself lots of issues as well. |

yes, I did look at the parental controls.
So there is absolutely no way to import the list? Manually inputting each one can take months? |

The alternative option would be to investigate a firmware such as DD-WRT. That may allow you to put in the list of sites.
To be perfectly honest though, I do not think that ANY commercial router aimed at the home market will do what you are asking. The memory inside the router is not infinite and I suspect that you will run out of room long before you get to 10% of the list. Whoever gave you that list was having a laugh at your expense if the intention was for you to put the list on your router. However it is possible to put such a list into Windows. Take a look at the Internet Options and look at putting the site in the list of blocked sites there. |
