Post Trouble access the WNR3500v2 web configuration Manager after change of his IP adress

Problem: I canít access the NETGEAR WNR3500 web configuration manager (after successful configuration) anymore.

I connected two wireless routers with one SSID (network name) at home for free roaming. One router is a KPN Experia box (Arcadyan ARV7519) with internet connection. The other router is a NETGEAR WNR3500v2. Wired connected to the ARV7519. On both routers/access point are PCís, Printer and NAS connected (wired and wireless).

So one of the wireless routers (the NETGEAR WNR3500) is now a wireless/wired access point with internet connection via the other router

I used the following articles to configured the both routers:
- http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/965
- http://vpncasestudy.com/download/use...cess_point.pdf

All wired and wireless PCís, printers, disk stations and smart phones are working well and do have internet connection. Also roaming between the two wireless access point / routers went well (both do have the same SSID)
Problem: After this successful configuration I canít access the NETGEAR WNR3500 web configuration manager anymore.

I tried with:
- his new IP adress http://192.168.2.253
- his old (default) IP adres 192.168.1.1 and
- http://www.routerlogin.com but with no success.

Because of this I canít change something on the NETGEAR.
Every time I want to change something I have to go back to factory settings and do the whole configuration again.
To be clear: everything is working well now, I only canít access the configuration manager menu

Before I changed the IP address of the NETGEAR router I could go to the configuration manager with or http://192.168.1.1 or http://www.routerlogin.com .
I set static IP on my PC because of the initial different subnet of the NETGEAR (as described in http://vpncasestudy.com/download/use...cess_point.pdf chapter 8.)

The settings of my network are:

KPN Experia box Arcadyan ARV7519 KPN
static ip: 192.168.2.254
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
DHCP Enabled: IP Adress pool 192.168.2.1 Ė 192.168.2.200
FirewallEnabled
UPnP Enabled
Wireless Enabled

Wireless: WPA-WPA2 (same SSID as NETGEAR
Wireless channel 6
Wireless mode mixed 802.11n / 11g and 11b

Internet ADSL
NETGEAR WNR3500
static ip: 192.168.2.253
DHCP off
Wireless: WPA-WPA2 (same SSID as ARV7519)
Wireless channel 11
Wireless mode mixed 802.11n / 11g and 11b

Can someone help to access the configuration manager of my NETGEAR
WNR3500?

Thanks

my suggestion is try 192.168.1x ip instead of your network.

I have seen some unit do not like changes the default lan subnet so 192.168.2.x be an issues since reset of the setting is fine

Hello June,

Thanks for your advice.
We changed our network to 192.168.1.xxx instead of 192.168.2.xxx

The only problem was that our KPN (= dutch telecom provider) Experia box (Arcadyan ARV7519) locked the IP adres of the router at 192.168.2.254.

I found on internet a sollution to hack this:
http://portfolio.pboetzkes.nl/hack-a...pn-experiabox/
This is a Dutch article (sorry for that) but I Suppose that most users of this KPN-locked router will be dutch.

So my network runs fine on 192.168.1.xxx and I can access the NETGEAR WNR3500V2 as I used to.

thanks
Frank

Sounds great. Should not happen like this but I seem some model has reported with its behavior.

Enjoy!
