I have been trying to add a QoS priority rule to make sure that my Vonage Phone has priority. I don't believe their tech support knows what QoS is and I have spoken to several of them and they have no idea what the QoS screens look like either. But I have these settings on the front QoS page.
X Enable WMM (Wi-Fi multi-media) Settings (2.4GHz b/g/n) X Enable WMM (Wi-Fi multi-media) Settings (5GHz a/n) X Turn Internet Access QoS On X Turn Bandwidth Control On Uplink bandwidth: maximum 384 Kbps Then when I click - Setup QoS Rule Then I click - Add Priority Rule I change Priority Category to MAC address The page changes and adds a - MAC Device List with a table under it that is blank. (side note: clicking the Refresh does not do anything) QoS Policy for - Von MAC Address - 00:55:AA:55:A5:A5 (correct one of course) Device Name - Von1 Priority - Highest clicking Add or the Apply button blanks this page out, and the rule is not added to the QoS priority list. I can add priorities by ethernet port, On-line gaming, and application. I am running. Hardware Version WNDR3700 Firmware Version V1.0.4.35NA GUI Language Version V1.0.0.19 have re-flashed firmware, and reset defaults netgear case# 10249486 please let me know I'm not crazy!!! |

However, I tried different Laptop Computers and all of them are working: Lenovo SL400 PC1 IE 7.0.6001.18000 - WinXP Home SP3 Firefox 3.0.10 - - WinXP Home SP3 Lenovo SL400 - under VMWare IE 8.0.6001.18702IC - Vista Ultimate SP1 IE 8.0.7600.16385 - Windows 7 Enterprise Lenovo SL400 PC2 IE 8.0.7600.16385 - Windows 7 Ultimate Dell Inspiron 1545 IE 8.0.6001.18813 - Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit It is only my ACCER with WinVista SP2 using EE 8.0.6001.18813IC experience the problem. You may try different different browser or much better to try it with different computer.

Hi,
I would suggest for you tho reflash the firmware and do a hardware reset then try to add QoS using MAC address. If still not working better return the device, because I also ask my friend to try the same scenario and it is still working. I think that your device is still under store warranty.. I will look forward to this issue.. Link for firmware and use a hardwired connection. http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/11766

Well I got an email from a level 2 tech and he asked me to reset defaults and then reflash the firmware again. It sounded like that was his last shot at troubleshooting. He said in his lab that QoS by mac address worked fine. So I guess I'll be rma'ing this one once he gets back tome because trying this as the first thing after a erase then flash still did not fix it. For the time being I move my device to directly connect to the router and gave that port highest priority.

It's not specific to your unit; Netgear should work harder (try) to duplicate the anomaly. Send them your config file, router serial # and f/w.
--- ATTN NETGEAR FIX YOUR SOFTWARE ---- WNDR3700 s/n # 2181985J xxxx f/w # WNDR3700-V1.0.4.35NA.img We can't build a QOS policy for a wireless client / MAC. Nothing appears on the QOS "MAC Device List" table although devices are indeed active and listed under "Attached Devices" on the main menu. A list of clients should immediately appear after selecting "MAC Address" from "Priority Catagory." If the MAC list did populate it should update after hitting refresh. And you can't manually define a QOS policy for a MAC (meaning relying on the MAC Device List and free entering all associated MAC data.) GET ON IT PLEASE THANK YOU Last edited by jmizoguchi; September 28th, 2009 at 03:05 PM. |

open the case by going to registration tab at top of this page. support will know what you own by already registered devices.
