If someone opens a web browser to the public ip they get the router login dialog, I'd rather that not be visible on the internet at all.
Is there any way to prevent admin access from the public IP address and only access the router admin function from the private network ? |

Are you testing from inside or outside the network? By default there is no access from the WAN side.

Your right - i was testing from an iphone that i thought was not connencted to the local network (no wifi icon) but it turns out was. Once i turned wifi off the router did not respond to requests on the external interface.
