XAV101vw quit working

For 1-1/2 years my XAV101v2s worked just fine. Last week, after a brief ISP outage, they would no longer allow me to connect my desktop to the Internet. Thinking that my NIC had given up the ghost, I replaced it, but still there was no connectivity. I cycled power on the adapters, the router, the desktop, all with the same result. I've upgraded the firmware on both adapters. The configuration utility detects both adapters; when it executes, the Powerline and ethernet LEDs blink. It's fortunate that I have a WiFi range extender: I can hard-wire the desktop to the extender to achieve a connection. It's just too bad that I spent $100 on the adapter kit, only to have it stop working after 18 months!

Any ideas on possible means to resurrect the adapters from the dead?
