Default Can I receive Wifi Signal with my Netgear?

Hi,
I have a Netgear router WGR614 upstairs, but my internet connection is through my Belkin router downstairs. Can I setup the netgear to receive the signal from the other router?
My stereo etc needs to be LAN connected to the netgear to access my itunes etc. I can't disrupt the wireless downstairs though, as my roommates use it too.
Any clues?

Thanks

yes and no

if you WGR614 is NO V9 or V10 then don't even waste your time. it will NOT work

you will need extender such as

wn2500rpt,wn200rpt,wn3000rpt, wnce3001,wnce2001

if you have V9 or V10

http://vpncasestudy.com/download/WDS/WDS_Concept.pdf
your belking MUST support WDS and if not you will be back to buy extender instead.

Even if your BElkin router supports WDS, it may or may not support - 50/50 chances. I suggest as well you purchase an extender instead.

Thanks guys. Sounds like it'll be easiest to get a Net Extender. Think I'm going to get the WN3000RP, which looks like the most affordable option.
Does it create another wifi network of it's own with a different name? Don't want to confuse devices.
Do you think I can plug the ethernet into my existing router and connect the stereo and TV through that?

What do you mean? If you can connect the extender to the router with an ethernet cable?? No, it's not possible. Extenders are for wireless connection from the router only. But you can connect clients/devices to the extender wired 1 at a time since WN3000RP has 1 ethernet port only. You can refer to this manual below:
ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/WN..._27JUN2011.pdf

Look on Page 8.

Right I was actually thinking that I could connect the extender to the router, just to be able to plug more devices into the extender. I need the stereo and TV to be hardwire connected, and the extender only has one port. I would run the wireless devices off the extender.
Maybe it isn't as simple as that though.

You can purchase WN2000RPTv2. It has 4 ethernet ports at the back, so you can connect 4 devices wired at the same time. HEre's the manual below:
http://www.downloads.netgear.com/fil..._05MAR2012.pdf

Check on page 8 again.
