It randomly shut off and when you plug it in you can hear a humish type sound but no lights or nothing. I sent in an email to support twice now and they don't answer me back?? It's not a brand new router but if I can get it repaired cheap I'll try it.

bad power supply or if the noise is coming out of router itself then capacitor is blown.
time for new router

unless it is retail purchase and it is past 30days within 1 year warranty then support will do RMA exchange otherwise you need to return to vendor where purchased or buy new router.
there is no repair service unless you do yourself. RMA exchange only what manufacture will do

Sounds like the capacitors are shot in your router and you need to buy a new one.
I've never tried replacing the capacitors (maybe one day ) but here's a thread where it is described:http://forum1.netgear.com/showthread.php?t=55327Good luck! |

So I had my old netgear power adapter laying around and I plugged it in and the router started working again. So that means the other adapter that goes with the router is broken I assume. What do I do?
Broken adapter: http://i.imgur.com/JuPhL.jpg Old adapter: http://i.imgur.com/dbGSe.jpg So...Use the old adapter? Or get a new one? What do? |

Also, the faulty power adapter shows no output voltage when I tested it with my multi meter so where would I get a replacement power adapter for this now?..
