I have called Netgear several times and no one seems to know what I'm talking about. They say they have never heard of this kind of problem.

Yes. I ran into this issue about 3 weeks after I originally bought the WNDR3800. I upgraded to .34 firmware which did nothing for this issue. REALLY ANNOYING. I've since backed down my 2.4 range to 54Mbps to see if this will at least stabilize this band. 5ghz band works like a champ.

I had trouble with 5g and changing the Channel fixed that (I don't know what was the source of the conflict, could have been a wireless mouse).

Do you have other 2.4gHz devices, or an active microwave oven, in proximity to your router?
