Default R6300 Corrupt Firmware File

I have a slow blinking green power symbol and a solid orange internet symbol. Apparently this is due to a corrupt firmware.
I found a walk through fix on a Netgear support page which has me using the command prompt to reinstall the firmware. This has not worked. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong.
Here is a quick little copy and past of what Netgear support is telling me to do. This reads a bit weird to me so if anyone can help would be great...

"Run the command tftp -i put firmware_filename, where firmware_filename is the actual name of the firmware file"
