The router says that both are being broadcast, however, I only see the 5 ghz network, and rarely see the 2.4 ghz network pop up. I have a poor connection to the 5 ghz signal, even though between me and the router I only have 15 feet and one wall. There are no major inhibitors for the signal. When I do see the 2.4 ghz signal, I try to connect, but I keep failing to connect to it. Is this an issue with my adapter or the router? I have an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6250 AGN wireless adapter.
Both signals are on the 'up to 300mbs' mode. The 5 ghz signal is on channel 44 and the 2.4 ghz is on auto (I can choose auto or 1 through 11). They both have WPA2-PSK [AES] passwords, and for some reason, I can't use a WPA password without bringing the mode down to 'up to 54mbps'. When I do that, however, I can connect to the 2.4 ghz signal completely fine. The only problem is, it's a G signal instead of an N signal. I need the N for gaming. Thanks, -Chrome |
