Do you mind actually posting something that is useful and helpful to those of us with this annoying dropping of connection?

I already have a static IP and I'm not dropping UNpP because I have sharing of network printers.

Also, the whole reason I switched from Linksys to Netgear in the first place was because the router kept shutting down my connection.

It is annoying that nothing changes on the router and all the sudden the connection is dropped and the wireless network cannot be found. I would not have this silly WRN2000 router if my wireless G router of 6 years had not died for no apparent reason.

Again, please post something useful instead of annoying and patronizing google searches. We come to these forums for useful information because as the previous poster says, the calls to technology were unsuccessful.

All of you tech guys treat us like idiots and expect us to continue buying your products, but I tell you one thing, if a simple problem like this cannot be figured out I will take this back to the store and get a competitor product. Thanks very much.

There is no reason my router should drop or stop my wireless connection EVER, unless I shut off the router, disconnect the internet or armageddon hits. PERIOD.

OH and I have windows 7 and a stellar cable modem connection. My G router NEVER dropped the wireless. I have had this N router a few days and it drops it several times a day. VERY ANNOYING.

Thanks in advance for you help with this matter.

Dude, this is a User Forum, not a manufacturer support forum. Most of us here giving help are NOT Netgear employees. We are posting simply because: we are interested in computer networking; we probably own a similar piece of equipment; we are working in the computer field; and we are willing to help others for free. Whether you want to keep your network equipment is your choice, we have no business gain OR loss from your decision.

Wireless network dropping sometimes is simply because there's interference in your neighborhood. You know nowadays, practically everyone's having a Wifi network in his/her home. If your wifi and your neighbor's wifi is broadcasting in the same frequency, something called destructive interference will occurred. It will weaken both your and your neighbor's network, and sometimes causing the network to drop completely. Your old wireless G router is broadcasting in a different frequency than your WNR2000 (wireless N), that's probably the reason why it had no problem before. What you can do is to try a different channel on your wifi router to see if it helps to make your wifi more stable.

What is the color of the internet light in front of the router when your internet connection drops out?
Also when the internet connection on your router drops, please access the routerlogin page and check if you still have IP address under internet port.

I have the same problem with the same router, never had an issue with the WRN1000. I have wired all the time but wireless keeps dropping and the lights stay green. I tried the fixes you did with no luck. Mine is still new, but don't know if i should get another 2000 or 1000.

Seem to be having a similar problem with my router.
Few days back i noticed that we couldnt connect via wifi, but wired was working fine. connected to the admin page and it had deselected the wifi region altogether. tried selecting europe again and it would still be blank after the save.

done a factory reset, and used the config backup. still same problem.
done another factory reset and entered the connection details, worked for about 5 mins before the wifi region went blank again.

flashed the latest fw again, V2.1.00.54_1.00.54, entered all teh details again, and this time the wifi has been fine, but a new problem has arisen.

The connection is active, but i'm getting a lot of stuttering on the connection, seems to lag for about 10 seconds every few minutes then resume as normal. i cant access the admin page during the stutters.

I changed the power supply not long ago, due to it restarting itself every 10 minutes, and it has been working fine since then.

any ideas?
