We have been using the phone for a couple of days with no problems. Then, all of a sudden the screens displays the message "System is starting up" and stays there forever! Have reset the base, have turned off my PC, have unplugged the ethernet cord, unplugged and plugged back the charger base, no success! Any suggestions? Thanks!

If you continue to get the same locked "System is starting up" message or if it initially works but displays this screen again - then I'd say that the system is faulty.

Excellent! I'm very pleased it's working again.
![]() But I wouldn't fully trust it just yet - maybe after a few weeks without the same problem reappearing. Best wishes from a currently very rainy London(ish).

I am starting to get a little annoyed with the phone lately I really need to boot (power cycle the box, not the phone) the SPH200d a lot. I still can not believe that more than a year on the market an NO firmware to resolve any issues???? I should have checked that before I purchased. Logging faults with Netgear is a waste of time. |

This casts quite a different light on the OP's problem which now seems more likely to have been a DSL dropout. Quote:
![]() I'm still trying to get a meaningful response to stuff I'd reported on May 19th, and continue plugging away with several later issues too.

My wife have the same problem and I think that this post together with a thread
http://forum1.netgear.com/showthread...hlight=sph200d are very usefull threads for many of the sph200d/linksys 400 devices and should be placed in documentation / FAQ / troubleshooting. Many thans, those two threads helped me to reanimate 200 euros device which haven't worked for more then a month till I've returned and read those threads. |

It happens to me for one week.
I googled everywhere. I checked everything. Finally I checked the adpater plugged in the base station, which was always hot and replaced it. Everything works now.

Is there a firmware update or a easier way to fix this issue. It's inconvenient to power cycle the phone each time, I have to use it. |
