Default SC101 Serial Number

Hi all,
I've bought on EBay a refurbished SC101. It arrived without serial number 'cause it was deleted with a drawing pen.
I've installed Vista ()on my PC so I'm looking for a solution to use SC101 on it... in a thread I've found notices about beta drivers so I'd like to try them but when I follow the link in that thread I cannot access to resources 'cause it is reserved to user that have registered the product...
someone can help me??
PS: Sorry for my english!!!!

refurbished products come WITHOUT support from netgear and WITHOUT warranty from netgear. this includes beta-software for windows vista. currently you have 2 choices:

1. take the refurbished sc101 back to the guy who sold it and get a retail unit (and have access to techsupport and betadrivers). this is what i would do.

2. wait for the releasedrivers to come out (which can take a while).

that is not how it works. you are supposed to get the betadriver only if you have a valid product (which you dont have). IF someone posts you the link to the file he does so at his own risk.

it's so strange!!!
If I download and install some drivers from a link posted by a user the risk is mine!!!
I'm not asking assistence about a refurbished product.... I'm asking to try to use it...
I've read about an alternative way to install SC101 on Vista... risking MY S.O... some notice about?

no the risk is his, because he/she is not supposed to make any beta-links public

Beisser is right any Beta software is reserved for customers that have registered products, and any user that posts a private beta software in the public portion of the forum does so at their own risk.

No it is impossible to try to use a USED SC101 that you bought with a scratched out Serial number.

Maybe contact the seller and see if he had written down the serial number before scratching it out? Or maybe see if he will take a return since he scratched out the number?

It is also possible to use it with the released verions of the firmware and SCM that are freely available from the SC101 support webpage, you just can use it with Vista.

Purchasing on eBay has it's rewards and it's risks - sometimes you win, sometimes you lose - that was a choice you made.
