Why was my original post not added here? I'll try again shall I.

Installed a wg111v3 on my xp amd machine 2 weeks ago. After 3 days of error free use it started to cause the random freeze problem.

Earlier this week I reinstalled from the cd and then started getting the "acquiring network" problem all the time. Numerous reinstalls made no difference.

Then I d/l the latest firmware v1.5.0 and installed that. Absolutely no difference. As a last ditch I reset the WGR614 router back to factory and reconfigured it again and set it to channel 1(as suggested in this thread I think). After several reboots I eventually managed to reinstall the wg111v3 with v1.5.0 and it connected. Fixed I thought. Hooray.

After about an hour the first freeze happened. The second freeze happened as I typed this post for the first time.

So after days of reinstalling, upgrading and faff I am still where I was before. With a wireless solution that is essentially no use.

Another thread here talks about there being an issue with the drivers not working on AMD processors. Is this true?

Considering the amount of time that has passed since this issue and the amount of complaints involved...

Is NETGEAR even DOING ANYTHING to fix this problem?

My findings using a WG111T usb adapter:

WinXP 32bit - worked great.
Vista64bit - very dodgy, disconnecting a lot.
Win7_64bit - Not bad but doesn't run at a decent rate, only got it working with a self written driver (previously used in linux setup)
Ubuntu/Debian - Had assistance in writing a driver for 64bit as Ndiswrapper wouldn't use the win32bit one netgear supply.

If an open-source community who do not get much income at all can write a half decent working 64bit driver for this card, how can Netgear repeatedly ignore the issue and fail to come up with a driver?

Seeing as NETGEAR is refusing to provide a working driver for Vista, is there anyone who could gratefully provide me with a 3rd party driver for my WG111v2 for Vista please?

I have a NETGEAR WG111v2, up until today I had a GREEN icon in the task bar. But now it has turned Yellow. Has anyone had this before, or can tell me what has caused it and what I can do to rectify it? I have had the adapter about 18 months to 2 years. I have USB 2.0 ports, but my speed the last few days has been at 11Mbps, It has not seen 54Mbps for ages now. But saying that, ATM it is showing 18Mbps. Do I need a new one?

Thanks in advance

ohwell

Would someone be kind enough to help before I have no hair left lol

I have a netgear WGT624v3, for the last 2/3 years have been using 2 wired PC's and 1 x laptop wifi. A couple of weeks ago the wireless connection was lost and I cannot restore it (I had been using it all day no problem, late pm had gone!).
At the moment I have it connected via ethernet cable which is a pain as I can only go 2ft away from the router.
I guess it has lost a setting somewhere, but although I am quite capable of following instructions I don't know what I am looking for.
Everything esle is working finw just the wifi connection.
I would be really grateful for any help/advice. I am using XP if that helps.
Many thanks in advance
Jayne

What do you mean? Do you have a 64 bit driver for WG111T?

I'm looking for it to run on Ubuntu 64 bit (a windows driver is good too).
Please let me know.

Thanks,
Michele.

I have moved my Netgear WG111T usb device to a new computer which has Win XP x64 on and the latest driver (2.1) refuses to install (it tells me it is the wrong version), i have searched the forums for a 64 bit driver but have found none. The download page says not to use with Win 98 or ME but nothing about 64 bit XP, what is the issue here and is there a 64 bit version available somewhere. Also when i entered the serial number of my device on registering here it said it didn't exist (i double checked the SN and it was 100% correct)

Okay, I recently had to do a ton of work on my pc which resulted in a purchase of Windows 7 and a new installation of pretty much everything on Windows 7 64-bit.

I purchased a WG111v3 wireless adapter to go with my older MR814v2 router. The software for the adapter installed fine and is up to date from everything I can tell. More often than not however, I received messages about Limited or No Connectivity. I can see the network and attempt to connect to it but it doesn't let me in most of the time. Every now and then it will let enter my WEP key, which is entered correctly, and it lets me connect. But over time, it just seems to dump me out.

Last night I got it to see the network and connect by powering down the router and modem. I connected to the internet for the night and no problems. I left the PC on and this morning it had kicked me off the network and is fluctuating between showing the networks and not finding any. When it does see the network, it won't allow me to click on it and try to connect.

I'm sure if I play around for long enough I can get it connected again but I have to assume this will continue happening. What should I be trying?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
