Default Can't Uninstall WG111v3

Returned product to store since it was too slow for online gaming.

Can't uninstall the software. When I use the netgear uninstall feature it fails to initialize. Won't allow me to delete the folder either. Program also does not show up in the windows add/remove program list.

Exact message says "Error reading setup initialization file"

I did run the uninstall as admin.

Download the v.1.1.0-driver here:
http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/wg111v3.asp
Run the Setup, which should work without the stick too.
Reboot the pc and now do the uninstall.

If this does not work at all, do a systemrestore to the moment before you first installed the wg311:
start - run - c:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe
But you've to know, your whole pc is set back to this point of time!!
But I think, you said it is only some days in the past!?

I got the folder removed. Neither windows task manager or msconfig showed any netgear processes running but I remembered spybot had a startup editor. It did show a netgear process so with spybot I was able to shut down/remove the service, reboot and then delete the folder and it's contents.

I have not made any clean doc but I found this..

A copy of Revo uninstaller from download.com

Install the Neargear utility and driver that you are happy with, I had version 4.1 I think.

1.- Install Revo software
2.- run Revo and uninstall WG311t utility - use complete uninstall (bottom options) - This will leave the drivers in place, will only uninstall the utility.
3.- reboot your computer.
4.- Go to Control Panel -> Adminstrative Tools -> Services -> and find the service "Wireless zero configuration" down the bottom of the list. Right click on it and -> properties -> make it start "Automaticaly" -> Start it (before you leave the window)
5.- Go to network connections and right click on "Wireless Connection....."
6.- Click on properties
7.- Click on Wireless Network
8.- Select your SSID from inside the box and click on properties.
Add you password and encryption type.
OK the changes.
You are done.
