Boater needs to extend wireless

We need something to extend our range when boating. The marinas all have wireless (Coastal Wireless service) on Lake Erie. We need some way of extending our reception to these places. Sometimes we are way out on a finger dock and can not always pick up the signal. Is there anyway to enhance our existing wireless? Or adding a new wireless card with better range?

You don't mention what type of wireless you are using so it's hard to offer any suggestions.

You can purchase different types of wireless clients, some of which are offered with removable, external antennas and you can sometimes purchase (or even build) high gain antennas that can extend your range.
