Forgot my security password!

Hi everybody. I'm trying to connect my Nintendo Wii to my wireless router and I need the 21 character security password. I thought I wrote it down somewhere but now I can't find it. Is there any place I can go to retrieve it? Thanks!

You can access the router via a wired connection and read the settings from the wireless configuration pages.

You are confusing ‘password’ with ‘passphrase’. From your first post I believe you are after the passphrase.

Since the passphrase is required to gain access to the wireless network, you are not going to be able to find the passphrase that way, since that would be an obvious security breach.

Is there a reason why you can’t use a wired connection?

I know this is going to sound dumb, but how do I go about finding the passphrase using a wired connection? Sorry for the stupid question!

people.. people..

nothing is dumb question but lets face it.. there is always basic standard in anything.. access your router on wired connection and access your router.. all your tools are there..

So don't know how to get it.. look bottom on your router.. if you are not advanced and didn't change password to your router like most people do.. then bottom of the information on the router is correct..

get your information you need WEP/WPA key or passphrase..

and No.. if you don't have WEP/WPA key or passphrase, you will not get on to the router period..... reason to have WEP/WPA key or passphrase right.. to be secure.. unless it was non secure wireless you have then you can.

You kind a asking..I don't have SIM card on my cell phone but I want to use my cell phone...

When you say "look bottom on your router" where exactly do you mean because I believe I'm having a similar issue with my passphrase. I'm having difficulty connecting my Wii and my iPhone and I keep using the password that was emailed to me when I first registered my product but I fear that I'm supposed to be entering a different number but I don't know how to find this number.

I'm sending this message from a wired computer so hopefully you'll be able to point me in the direction I need to look.

email password? you must be thinking something else. wireless encryption are set BY you 99% of the time

get manual and read up how to login and go to wireless setting

Thanks so much! I was able to find my wireless settings thanks to your link and discovered my passcode. I've not succesfully connected my iPhone and am heading in now to set-up my Wii. Many thanks!!
