Default Wireless network not showing

I have a Netgear RangeMax wireless router (model DG834PN) and it was working fine until two weeks ago when I stopped being able to see my network on the available wireless networks. I reset the router using the reset button and set up the configuration again, but this did not help.

I can connect through an Ethernet cable connected to the router. The broadcast SSID is enabled and it is supposed to be working on channel 11 which was what it was set to before the problems. I tried to set up a manual wireless connection to the network but this didn't work either. I have a Dell Latitude D830 and Vista Business.

Any ideas how I can connect wirelessly again would be appreciated.

Thanks Parham

Hi,

Thanks for the tips- I have done the basic troubleshooting and tried to access the network manually, but it cannot be found. I do not believe it is a passphrase issue as normally the network can be seen and will tell you the passphrase is incorrect. For some reason the network is not broadcasting even though in the set up it is supposed to be.

I would do hard reset. see my sig below for router reset.

if this still does not work on any other wireless device include this pc you are working you may have fault unit. also check power supply too.

Hi,

Will do the reset again (tried this once already) and will see if I can get hold of another machine to see if it can see the wireless network.

One question- should the wireless icon be lit up on the router or does this only light up if a wireless connection has been made?
