Default FVS318 problem with Xbox Live

I have the FVS318 (with the latest firmware of course) and have tried to use port forwarding and/or put the xbox in the DMZ. Neither of which work properly because XBL tells me my NAT is moderate.

Any help would be great.

I'm assuming if you hook it up to your modem directly there are no issues? What IP do you get from DHCP if you connect to your modem directly? It may need to be put into "bridged" mode.

It's on a static IP with verizon FIOS. The router works fine otherwise and has a constant VPN tunnel with 2 other offices. It's just the Xbox Live issue that is making me angry.

if you are running VPN tunnels using with FVS318 then seems setup is okay on router.

DMZ should work

I completely agree, but it's not. I used these routers before and had the same issue so I got rid of them but recently decided to purchase them again for the benifit of easily connecting our sites together.

I can't understand why it has this issue.

Here is some of the things the log shows that is causing the issues
Wed, 2009-03-25 11:18:50 - UDP packet - Source: 192.168.0.152 - Destination: 65.55.42.131 - [Connection timed out.Bytes transferred : 1711 Src 3074 Dst 3074 from LAN]
