Default Netgear EVA2000 + WD MyBook World NAS

I'm pretty new to this networking thing, so please bear with me.

I purchased a Netgear EVA2000 and a WD NAS drive to store my video files. I have moved all of my video files to this hard drive, but on the problem I am having is as follows:

- EVA2000 device menu pulls up just fine
- I can browse Youtube, hulu, and live television just fine
- If I go to My Collection > Home Network, "MyBookWorld" shows up (which is good, I assume)
- I press ok on that and three folders come up: Music, Photos, and Videos
- I press ok on "Videos" and see "All Videos" and "Folder"
- I press ok on "all Videos" and it flashes "No Titles Found Under This Category"

The files are definitely there and playable on my PC. I Guess I don't understand why the EVA will detect the drive but not the files. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I do not use any AV/AS software nor is any firewall turned on.

Thanks!

You described the same problem that I experienced with my Airlink101 NAS350, except I was able to see and play mp3 files. In my case, I was able to view and play the same mpeg files after I moved them over to an attached USB drive.

I specifically bought the nas so I wouldn't have to move a USB drive back and forth from PC to EVA, but if I have to it'd be cheaper. Would you suggest I simply return it and go that route then?

A NAS is really the only way to go. You'll be much happier if you keep the NAS. But I'd return the WD NAS and get a ReadyNAS.
