Default Can't access WNR3500 as admin (by its IP)

Hello,

I am dealing with a problem I can't solve. This weekend my ISP provider send me a new Router. (I am living in The Netherlands and the ISP is KPN, the router is a ExperiaBox from Thomson, this in case of any Dutch readers...).

Well, I also own a WNR3500 and it always has been used as a Access Point. My old routers standard gateway was 10.0.0.138 and so I did not use the WNR as a DHCP router. I gave it the IP address 10.0.0.200. This address was used to access it as admin. The setup was:

Speedtouch 546 (old router) > WNR3500 > (PC, NAS, PS3 etc.)

From the PC I could access the router through 10.0.0.138 and the WNR by 10.0.0.200, so far so good.

Then I received my new router. This new one is also WI-FI (b/g) and has a standard gateway: 192.168.2.254

So I did reset my WNR. Kept pretty much all the settings (basicsettings, wireless settings etc.) the same and only changed "LAN IP setup" as follows:

LAN TCP/IP Setup:
IP Address: 192.168.1.10
IP Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
RIP Direction: Both
RIP Version: Disabled

Use Router as DHCP Server: NO
Starting IP Address: 192.168.1.2
Ending IP Adrdess: 192.168.1.254

Then I shut down all and restarted as follows: Router > WNR > PC

The thing is: I have Internet (LAN and WI-FI) access. My mobile detects the router WI-FI as well as the WNR WI-FI (both give Internet access).

BUT: I can not access the WNR any anymore!! When I enter its IP (that was set to) 192.168.1.10 it won't give me access. As soon as I discontect the router (so no more Internet access) and I just connect the PC to the WNR I can access it as admin again...

Now I am not a IT specialist. I think I am making a pretty easy mistake here, but can some one please tell me what it is??

Thanks a lot!

[EDIT]

My pc (or other devices) get's an IP like 192.168.2.2 (and 3, 4, 5...)

Via cmdprompt I ping the WNR and I get Time-outs... Still it is alive and sending out Wireless Inet which I can connect too...

based on your post, the IP that you have assigned is these
LAN TCP/IP Setup:
IP Address: 192.168.1.10
IP Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
RIP Direction: Both
RIP Version: Disabled

Use Router as DHCP Server: NO
Starting IP Address: 192.168.1.2
Ending IP Adrdess: 192.168.1.254

however the IP gatewa on the main router is 192.168.2.254.

assign a static IP on the computer with the range of 192.168.1.x then access the WNR3500. After that change the IP addresses to 192.168.2.x.

if you reset the router , router will be default back to 192.168.x.x so you will need to "reconfigure" the WNR3500 as an "access point" again with 10.x.x.x IP
