i agree to the manual setup of the DNLA/DNA content as it takes an age to rebuild the library.
now you can rename the stora and can have more that one on a network, it would be a nice idea if it was possible to have an auto backup feature local or remote to another stora for all content as a local or remote mirror. that has the same HDD space. something which i am thinking about doing after christmas when funds allow ![]() also a torrent client is a must, but i can understand why Netgear do not want to add this. and as someone said (sorry) the Web GUI needs to support the basic A/V files like avi without the need to download the file. also this is something that i have been wondering for a while. Windows allows for folder art to be added to it, by calling a file folder.jpg, and then showing this file as the folder cover when in thumbnail mode in explorer, is this something that is possible for Netgear to implement as it already shows the IDE tagged MP3's images. |

Lots of suggestions are given already...
1. Please do not forget to make a better backup software for Mom & Dad. Desktop Mirror. Please incorporate the Stora crendentials (user/password can be saved) on it so that we will not have to login every time the PC restarts. Or we don't have to make a batch file to login to Stora... Thus making the Stora fully automated backup sytem using the Desktop Mirror for Mom & Dad. 2. Kindly provide an alternate access to the mystora.com without using Java script. (Like a simple html viewer or something like that). This is for the Grand Paps out there who still keeps their old computer or doesnt have an updated Java on their PC. This is also another way to access the stora thru a phone like device (for the geeks), because some phones doesn't have full Java support. Now everybody in the family will be happy

I see it mentioned above that a sleep mode was coming but the post was dated Nov 2009, it is now Feb 2011 and I just purchased a Stora and still don't see a sleep mode even tho I know I saw it mentioned in the advertising. I've had little help from Netgear support on this, does anyone have an update on this?
Thanks |

Before when sleep mode was working, my stora was essentially silent when the disk was not spinning. Now it is always spinning, and there is a bit of a constant hum. On another thread, someone said that constant spinning was less harmful to disk life than spinning down and resuming when accessed, but I am not so sure about this. I too thought I saw it advertised that the unit would power down if not used for a period of time, so hopefully that will be enough push to get netgear to re-establish this proerty of the equipment. Cheers, KH |

Hello All
I've recently bought a Samsung C8000 series TV with upnp file support. Sadly it looks like Stora is not sending subtitle information to tv... is ther a way to twaek stora's upnp server to add info about subtitles? i know this is posibble to do (tv has the capability to handle subtitles via upnp). standard upnp server provided by samsung can do that, ps3 media server after little improvements can do that also. what i cannot do is to add stora's shared folders to upnp servers running form pc so Netgear folsk - can you update /enhance stroras upnp server? This is the orginal thread from PMS - maybe it will be helpful |
