Default Can the 5 ghz band be turned off?

Can the 5 ghz band be turned off, and is there an advantage to doing so? Right now I don't have any 11n devices. I bought the modem in anticipation of adding wireless n devices, and hoping that this modem would provide better wireless g coverage than my Linksys wrt54g. So far, it has.

It seems odd to include an led showing it is on, if there is no way to turn it off. I guess one can tell that it is functioning anyway. Thanks for the quick reply.

You most certainly can disable either or both of the radios. Are you affiliated in any way with Netgear tech support?
