I have having trouble connecting my laptop to the wireless network at my parents home. We have another laptop at home which connects to the network fine and my mobile phone connects to the wireless network as well but for some reason my laptop doesn't.
I can see the wireless network and can connect to it but when I do this I can't get any sites to work. I've tried deleting my wireless profile and then re adding it including reentering the password and this doesn't help either. When I did this, i could get to google but when i tried to get to any other website it didn't work again. I know my laptop's wireless receiver works because I use wireless internet when I'm at home in England. Does anyone know what the problem could be? thanks |

Hi,
What is the ip address of your laptop when you tried to connect to the signal? maybe you have a static ip address and DNS on the computer. Try pinging. In the command prompt type 'ping 69.147.76.15' then press enter next try typing 'ping yahoo.com' then press enter please tell us the results You may also try diabling software firewalls on your computer thanks. |

I actually already have a manually set up DNS address. I had some issues with my wireless back in England a few months ago and someone from my isp did some configuration so that might be the reason it isn't working anymore.
