Exclamation 2.3 Stora firmware update - Please Read

Description:
Update 2.3.1 is a quick emergency fix for users which have firmware version 2.3. It will fix the problems that have been reported with version 2.3:
- Constant disconnection of Stora after a specific amount of time
- Incomplete indexing of media content for iTunes and DLNA
- Unable to login to web interface
- Disconnection of mapped drives
- Other instabilities introduced after the upgrade

Instructions:
- Reboot your Stora and wait it until the blue light stops flashing. The update will be deployed automatically to the unit upon bootup.
- As soon as the blue light stops flashing, try to login.
- If you get a dialog instructing you to reboot, the update has been applied successfully. Proceed with the reboot.
o Once rebooted, login and check the version. It should show: 2.3.1:2.0.0.256
- If you cannot login after the first reboot OR if you login and you don’t get a dialog prompting you to reboot, there’s a chance that the update cannot be deployed due to the main cause of the problem. In this case:
o Power down the Stora
o Remove all disks from Stora
o Power up the Stora without any drives attached.
o Proceed with validating the update
o Once update has been applied, power down Stora
o Insert all drives and power up as usual
- Note: if during any of the reboots, the blue light keeps flashing for more than 5 minutes, power cycle the Stora.

Cause:
Upon introduction of the JBOD option to Stora, the order of filesystem mounts had slightly changed. This resulted in the mounting of temporary directories that would normally happen on the RAID1 disk array to happen on tmpfs (memory) instead. As the Stora was used and as the metadata of content got indexed, this would fill up memory and cause the instabilities encountered.
This problem would affect users with a large amount of media on their drives that are shared to Digital Media Players. Others would not encounter this problem since the temporary folders won’t grow much.

Solution:
The 2.3.1 update fixes the order of the mounts and ensures the temporary folders are created on the harddrives instead of memory which was the behavior prior to the 2.3 update.

If you encouter further issues, please email support@axentra.com.

Cheers,
Roby!

How many versions of 2.3 branch firmware were released?
Yesterday I have 2.3.2
Today: 2.3.1 (critical update, please reboot).

HI hrabex,

There has not been a 2.3.2 release, only 2.3 with a following 2.3.1

The update from 2.3 to 2.3.1 went fine for me.

Have you tried this:

And which firmware version is shown when you login ?
If it`s still on 2.3 you can search for updates and perhaps try it again this way..
