Default Lan network name stuck to older ssid

In the past the name of my network used to be the ssid i chose for the wireless when i was connected via wifi or ehternet. I changed this ssid. However when i connect though ethernet the older name appears. how can i change that? I have a dgn2000

delete the profile name on pc side. depends how wireless utility you are using so check all aspect on pc side to delete old SSID name

There is no way to define the name of the wired network at the router, I would suspect that you probably set the Windows workgroup to the same name as the SSID when you first setup the network, if this is the case you'll have to go to all of the PCs one by one and change it.

No, the workgroup of my computer is WORKGROUP. Yes I know that there is no way to name a lan networl but when i'm connected via ethernet is names it [older ssid]

Did you check the workgroup name for EACH & EVERY computer connected to the LAN?

I can verify that this does indeed happen. I'm on a domain network at home too, so it definitely isn't a WORKGROUP issue. Sure enough, when I connect via ethernet, Windows 7 shows the network name as "TROUT_NEW" which was the SSID I set up when I was first configuring the router so it wouldn't collide with the existing TROUT network. I haven't found a solution, I just thought I'd post in here to note - you aren't crazy, this does happen!
