Using a computer connected to the router, open web browser. Type http://routerlogin.com or http://192.168.1.1 then hit enter.

Used Admin for username and password for password.

Click Basic Settings on the left panel.
In the middle part you will see "Does you Internet connection regquire a login?"

This should be set to NO.

Next is "Internet IP address", since you want to set static IP address, this should be on "Use the following IP address".
You will have to enter IP adress, subnet Mask and Defaulte gateway, these values you need to put in should be provided by your Internet provider.

You will also see "Domain Name server Address", set it to "Use the Following DNS server" values you need to enter should also be provided by your Internet Provider. Once you're done entering them, click Apply on the bottom. Hope it works

cable modem services is dynamic IP and you will NOT able to use static IP unless you have business pkg most of the time.

for residential, whatever IP you get from ISP is pretty much it is and usually this same IP will assign for few month at a time
