Exclamation How to uninstal DD-WRT from WNDR3700?

Hi, I have small problem with me WNDR3700 . I installed DD-WRT because I need some additional functioncs like redirection to port and ip (ex. NAS server port 443). But DD-WRT is beta version and it cause problems with range etc. So I decidet to remove it and install original firmware. In GUI DD-WRT there isn't possible to install *.ISO files. Maybe is some way to install origrinal firmware by USB port or tellnet ? If somebady knows how to do it, please send me instructions.

probably best reading the thread with THOUSANDS of people chatting about this router with dd-wrt before you tried it. They also list links to recovery...

Hi, thank You very much for Your help!!!

So I anybody will have the same problem check instructions below:
(it differs from other sites - it works only from Windows XP - I have problems with Windows 7)

First of all, You must download the file tftp.exe from:
http://www.tftp-server.com/tftp-download.html
(92 kB version - second link)

Second, download the file with WNDR3700_xxx.img original firmware from:
http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12863
(ex.)

Place both files in the same directory ex. c:\WNDR

Than:
- plug the PC into LAN port 1
- set the pc to a static IP of 192.168.1.2
- power on the router
- press and hold the RESET button as soon as the switch LEDs light up.
- keep holding RESET until the power LED begins to flash orange and then green.
- only the power LED is flashing green (and of course port 1), release RESET and than

Run cmd on PC and go to c:\WNDR and type this code:

tftp -i -v 192.168.1.1 PUT <filename>

(replacing <filename> with your firmware image, of course.)

The TFTP transfer will happen VERY quickly. This is because the image is stored in RAM before flashing. Unless you can access the serial console, the router gives no indication it is now writing the image. What you can do is try to TFTP it again. If TFTP now fails, that's good, the router is busy flashing the image. If TFTP works, the router refused to flash the previous image.

After a good 5 minutes (or less), the power light will turn solid orange. The router should now be booting into the image.

And done!!!

Now test your wireless range and speed, particularly for 2.4 GHz.

Is it as good as it used to be?

hey there!
just did a switch of my wndr3700 dd-wrt myself and now switched back to the stock firmware, due to bad wifi-performance.
but after the switch to the netgear-firmware, the wifi-performance is the same as it was with dd-wrt.
not found any solution yet - anyone else does or experienced the same?

I believe that issue has been discussed a lot over at the DD-WRT forum. Last I heard there was no solution, but I haven't been keeping up with it. Best you go over there and do some research.

correct once you go to dd-wrt and have the wireless issue.. if you go back you in almost every case will STILL have the same issue even with the stock netgear firmware. so be careful and decide ahead of time if you really want to do this..

i personally cant wait till we have a solid version of dd-wrt and i wish tomato was available for this but it will almost for sure not support it.. tomato has always been my fav
