Default expanding range of netgear wnr834b

we're using the netgear wnr834b and trying to figure out a way to extend the range of the wireless network into the backyard - I know that's difficult because it has to somehow go through stone walls, etc. Probably the most difficult thing!

Does anybody have any suggestions? Is there a product that might help - made by netgear or anyone else?

thanks!

will

You could try a repeater (WN802T or WNR200RPT) or a powerline.

if you are going to extend the wireless signal using a wireless repeater like an AP WN802T or another WNR834B (should be version 2), make sure your existing router is WNR834B version 2.. only version 2 of this WNR834B has a repeating capability.

If your router is not version 2 then your choices are hook wireless AP through a long ethernet cord so you can put the wireless AP to a spot where you get weak signal, or you can use a powerline wireless range extender.

If I have the option to make the 2nd WNR834B v2 either as a repeater or an AP (wiring is not an issue), which one is the better approach?
