Hi, I just added a WNDR3700 to my network to replace an old LInksys. I already have a Netgear FVS318 VPN firewall, so I'm just using the 3700 as a dual-band 11n wireless access point.
I connected the 3700 to the FVS318 through a LAN port, configured the 3700 with a static IP addr on the LAN side, and did not configure or connect the WAN side. Everything works fine, except that devices connected to the wireless LAN cannot access the other PCs in my network by name. The Attached Devices table correctly shows the names of all the devices, but I cannot ping those devices by name (pinging by IP address works fine). It appears that the 3700 is not passing device names through the wireless network. Is there a setting to enable NETBios in the settings menus? Any suggestions? Dave |

to eliminate the wireless, if you connect 2 devices to the wired LAN ports, does it now work?
Are you running as a workgroup or in a domain? |
