Default WNDR3700 - DHCP Fails

Anyone have problems with DHCP stop handing out IPs? Same time, the web interface doesn't respond. Internet and LAN services work. Only way to fix is power cycle.

Have the latest firmware (can't get number as the web interface is locked up presently) and this happens about once every few weeks. I contacted NetGear's sorry support, and after many calls they finally charged me $20 to send a replacement. This is a top of the line SOHO router ($150+?) and the new RMA one does the same dang thing!

Am I the only one?

Can you look at the windows event viewer and get the exact error. I had something similar where the dhcp was being denied IP and was trying to assign a different IP from before. Somehow it could not remember what IP was assigned previously.

patrickgerry,

Thanks, but this is actually effecting all PCs on the LAN. If you come in on a Monday morning, most all DHCP configured computers are offline. None are getting IPs. Reboot the router and all online.

Hmmm, My reply didnt get posted last night :/..

What I find odd is that you say the "internet" is working, but the "setup webpage" isnt.. If the webpage and DHCP have gone down, then it should take WAN Routing with it.

Is the router providing the gateway services (Using WAN port on router) or is that provided via another bit of hardware on the LAN?

How many devices do you have on your network?... Do you have a lot of mobile devices..

Since it seems to work well through friday, I would look on the devices page on friday and see what the IP's are it list for connected devices, I dont know what the router does when it runs out of IP's to issue but that might be your problem?

It would be worth looking at the lights on the router when the problem is there, before you reboot.

It was deleted by first line moderators, probably because of the 'apple' comment. Please don't take this as a warning, but some posts even with seemingly innocent little jokes can fall foul of automated checks and moderator opinion.

I could if you wish edit that post and reinstate it, but it's probably redundant now?
