replace router easy how?

in case i need to replace my router
what would be the best way?
can i make a backup of a working router, replace it with another wndr3700 and do a restore?
will this restore my complete config incl routing tables, address reservation etc

Restoring to same router would work

the same router or the same router and router revision.

i might want to play around with swapping R14 for R21 and test the difference

as long as firmware is the same should. if does not like it it will act funky and just need reset and manually configure it
