I'm having serious problems getting inbound comms so have been advised to turn off the firewall of the router but I don't know how. I've been searching here, the manual or the net and nothing. I've been told it can be done so any ideas?

It’s possible you might need to do some portforwarding, but that depends on what program you are using. You don’t say what router you have? You cannot turn off NAT, it is fundamental to the router operation.

Hi,
Not sure about turning it off completely but you could try adding firewall settings reversing the defaults for incoming connections ( changing ALL to NONE, hopefully overiding the defaults. let us know if it works. but remember , it It's not recommended unless you put another firewall in place. I am considering using a 'Smoothwall" firewall box, which gives more info and is more configurable, which would require similar. .........all the best........ |
