Default Adapter doesn't work

When I turn on the adapter, I do not get the ready for connection screen. I get a screen with a bunch of lines or a blank screen that could be red, blue or green. Any thoughts?

After power on, you should see the splash screen in about 10 seconds. The splash screen stays on for about 10 seconds. Then, the screen goes blank (or bunch of lines) for another 10-15 seconds. Then, you get the "Ready to connect" screen.

Are you getting the splash screen? Are you waiting long enough (up to a minute after power on)?

You can also try connecting to TV using the composite connector just to diagnose whether the adapter is totally broken or not. The image quality will be poorer but you can at least tell whether the adapter is working or not.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L675. I get the Ready for connection. Then when I entered Intel Wireless Display, setup, the Install Wizard is aborted - says it is not compatible with Wireless Display or program in use. I have done the driver update.

Since the issue is with the Intel wireless display software, you should contact Toshiba support for help getting it working.

One thing to check is did you get an optional video card in your Toshiba laptop? If so, then you'll need to disable it and go back to the onboard Intel display card when using the PTV1000 (since Widi is all based around the Intel hardware.).
