Default n600 wireless dual band adapter, (WNDA3100) installion issues

Hello, i am having trouble installing my device on a 32 windows vista machine.

I put the cd in to install the adapter, and everything is fine until the install asks me to put in my adapter, when i do that the installation just sits at detecting adapter and doesn't do anything.
the adapter works fine on my newer machine, which i preferred to use a wired connection with though.

Uninstall it and try this driver

or this older version:

make sure that USB port you are using are not sharing with other USB products.

USB are paired up as block so check on that....

each USB is in block of pair...

also..

when you install the driver and ask for to insert, look at c:\program files\netgear, it will leave driver folder.. copy it and save to desktop

shut pc down, insert the stick and see if it finds it. if do, you can use it's driver .

still having the same issues with the newer drivers, i read somewhere some people had the same problem because they had to turn off their wired connection, i think i did that correctly but that could still be a problem. THe computer i am trying to use my adapter on has always had a wired connection, so could that be an issue?
thanks.

how do i make sure wireless adapters are enabled then, i know this sounds like a dumb question but other people had the same problem because they used to use a wired connection. What im thinking is that i changed some network settings and its causing my wireless adapter to not load properly. Others were saying that they reinstalled windows and it worked fine, but i cant go through all those steps because i am trying to get vital information off this machine.
