This is a compliance feature..
People aregue that the router doesnt comply to a standard, then they are upset when it does comply to a standard...

I just wanted to say that this firmware is working perfectly for me - everything that was broken is now fixed, and everything that was working is still working. Nice one Netgear, thanks for listening to what needed to fixed and then fixing it!

ok, just updated both my 3700 v1's to 98, one as AP other as router. just updated, no resets, 30/30/30 watchamacallit, or whatever, set it IPv6 autodetect, and left initial setting as were.
Results: very (!) fast loading web pages, speed both wired (router and AP are hardwired) as well as wireless well up against previous stats.
I'm happy.

So far this is the best firmware. No issues whatsoever. Also, no complaints from my son who plays Starcraft 2 and Wow. Great job Netgear!

I thought it was occuring when my WAN IP address lease would renew, but I don't think that was it due to never having that problem with my old FVS318. Nonetheless has anyone else had a similar problem of randomly dropped connections? Also, with my FVS318 I could reboot the router from within the GUI, but I don't see that within the WNDR3700. Is it there and I'm overlooking it or is there another way to reboot the router from a browser (or telnet, etc...) without having to hit the power button on the back?
Thanks in advance.
I, too have been using .68 for a long time. All was well until I replaced my Motorola SB5100 cable modem with the latest and greatest SB6120 last fall (Comcast, Chicago area). Then I got the dropped connection problem you mentioned, exactly as you described it. When I reverted to the SB5100, all problems went away and Internet has been rock solid. Just sayin', sometimes it's not the router.

Yes, I also noticed that write speed to the USB-attached drive went down significantly. I have an ext3-formatted drive attached and to copy a 700MB file to the drive now takes 90 seconds, which is a rate of slightly below 8MB/s. Previously it would take less than 1 minute.

But other than this issue, everything else is working very well, so overall I think this is the best firmware so far.
