Hi all, I have a hopefully easy question. I've been using the WNCE2001 wireless adapter for about a month, and I've come across the same problem every day. Somewhere between 1:30 AM and 2:30 AM, the adapter will lose connection, and then I have to unplug it and reset it, and it works again until the next day when it will do the same thing. I'm not losing wireless signal on any of my other devices, so I'm assuming it's only related to this adapter. My guess is that it's configured to renew its IP address or something like that at the same time everyday and that's what's causing this issue, so my question is-- is there some way to manually change the time that it does that or is there anything else I can do to make this stop? I'm using the adapater to connect to a VPN for my job, and when I drop connection, it is messing up the hours I log on the time clock.
Thank you! |

Thanks for the response, but I don't think it's the broadband. I always have 2 additional devices connected to the same router, and there's been no connection issues with either of them. Also PC in question does not have the issue when it's on a wired connection directly with the router.

Thank you again for the response. I'm really hoping to solve this issue so I can keep using the adapter.
I think either the adapter was automatically assigned a static IP address upon installation or I did it awhile ago and forgot about it. Either way, it's been operating on a static IP address and I'm not able to change the IP address that its been assigned to or allocate it to a fluctuating IP address from the router. This is what it says on the router info: Device: wnce2001 Current address: 192.168.1.71 Device status: connected Static IP Firewall: Enabled Address assignment: Static IP - no DHCP [///no other options] WAN IP Mapping: Router WAN IP address (default) [///no other options] While I was checking this, I noticed that the PC that the adapter is connected to also has the same IP address allocated to it--- 192.168.1.71. Could that be causing the issue? That PC is allocated to have a fluctuating IP address, but they have the same one... should I try assigning that one a different Static IP? |

Okay, I fixed the IP address problem, but nothing changed. I'm still dropping connection every single morning between 1:30 and 2:30 AM only on the WNCE2001 device.
Can you think of anything else that may be causing it? |
