Default Can't connect my Netgear products

I bought a Netgear N300 Wireless router and connected my laptop no problem. In so doing, I created a wireless network. I also purchased a Netgear N300 USB Wireless adapter. I can see the wireless network I created but when I try to connect, it stalls out attempting to acquire the network address. Sometimes it connects but at limited or no connectivity. How can I direct my desktop to connect these two Netgear products?

make sure to sue WPA, WPA2 encryption in the router.

login the router >wireless settings

Thanks for the reply....I logged in to Setup > Wireless Settings. Enable SSID Broadcast is checked. Enable Wireless Isolation is not. WPA2-PSK [AES] is checked in Security options.

Under Advanced Wireless Settings the WPS Settings are set to keep Existing Wireless Settings. What should I change?

if all working, nothing to change.. WPS are good for WPS capable wireless adapter and you have to hit button on front panel and the key listed in the label of the router or shown router interface so use on Wifi devices

Thanks again, June.

I did try using the button on the adapter and the button on the router. Essentially, it is all working (with a full, strong signal) except that when it seeks to connect, it gets stuck at "limited or no connectivity."

Is there a setting to change on the router to make it so that it can get past this?

WPS setup is only good if you WPS capable wifi assorted

Now, I would try ISP DNS on PC's tcp/ip properties and see how it goes
