Trouble connecting wirelessly since upgrade to V1.0.7.98

After doing a little more research and thinking (hard on an old brain like mine) I now realize that the problem was mostly with the drivers on the receiver in the desktop. Resetting the router and getting to 130 did show that I should have reset the router the first time I upgraded, but it would not connect at 300 until I upgraded the drivers.

I had not used the desktop since upgrading to the 7.98 firmware and just assumed that the router was the problem. I then realized that I connected with my laptop since then and not had any problems with speed.

So if you are having problems with connection or speed you might save yourself some time by updating the receiver drivers before doing anything else. If I had done so it would have saved me several hours of trouble shooting.
