Default VPN on DGN2200

Hi,

Today in replaced a trusty DG834G with a new DGN2200 (N3000).
I have 2 XP machines, each running a VPN Client (WAN Miniport L2TP). The VPN was working well with the DG834G, but I cannot get either to work on the new DGN2200. I have consulted the manual, tried different config on the router and searched this forum, but am still struggling.
Any advise / help / tips would be gratefully received

possible VPN passthrough issues on new unit. you can use DGN2200 as an access point which may defeats the getting the unit but just a thought.

I would suggest to contact support about this issues at my.netgear.com and use open technical submission

Thanks jmizoguchi. have raised a ticket with my.netgear. Wil see what they come back with. If it turns out that the unit doesnt support VPN Passthrough, what would you recommend as an alternative?

Unit should have VPN passthrough , just break in firmware that is causing this

Using dgn2xxx as an access point is not an option for you and use DG834G as primary? Use dg834g as modem mode and look into wndrxxx family router

You mean that there is a firmware update that could solve this?

The DG834G has failed (hardware) The DGN2200 is now working as the access point onto the internet. Would WNDR support passthrough?

Thanks jmiz!

Don't know but that is why you want to report the issues to support

like said.. ALL supports VPN passthrough but firmware bug on certain thing may causing issues. PPTP could be fine but not L2TP.

wndr3700 seems to have good luck with most vpn client users. don't take my words but read some of the 3700 thread.

Thumbs up Re: VPN on DGN2200

The VPN is now working through the DGN2200. It transpired that the problem lay with the VPN server at the remote site. There was no problem with the DGN2200
Feeling rather silly, I wasnt going to add this reply, but then considered that it was useful for others to know that the DGN2200 does support VPN Passthrough (L2TP) and that it works correctly.
Thanks again for your help jmiz.
