need help putting a password lockon my router: NETGEAR WGR614v9

hey, first time poster in the forums here. i appreciate all and any help on this matter from anyone.

i've had this router for a year or two and am finally decided to lock it for my use only. i've changed my password at routerlogin.net but i'm not sure what that did exactly for locking people out of my wifi connection. can anyone help and let me know what else i need to do to lock it. i've tried logging on to it from my phone and there wasnt a prompt for a password so i don't think its set to secure yet. again, any help would really be appreciated.

login the router >wireless settings and setup WPA2 encryption to block wifi access
