Default WNR2000v2 DNS not responding

Hello,

Im not sure how to sort out all the information but ill try my best to explain as much as I can.

I am in a college dorm with a laptop and have a wireless router WNR2000v2. I got it in November. It was in my friends dorm and was working fine. It was recently put in my dorm and it is not working. My friends said that the router wasn't working for them for about a month or so for their computers but it was working for their Wii's. When I try to troubleshoot the problem it says "The DNS server isn't responding". Sometimes the router will connect to the internet but when I open up my browser it says that the server is not responding. I have restarted my router a few times and restarted my laptop also.

Anyone have any solutions...?

Please and Thank You

most dorm will not allow router installed on the network

they are specific to the IP of the PC in order to access the network.

login the router and under lan setup, change router IP to ex 10.0.100.254 and dhcp disabled. make sure have have wireless setting set up before you do any of said settings.

apply it and plug LAN port out of router to wall out let. you should be internet via pc wireless or lan ports.

if this is difficult. find some smart people to help you

When I change the router IP address it says
"Please change your computer's IP address manually if LAN IP subnet will be changed."
Then it says my wireless has Limited Access.

if you need to change the PC to a new subnet range so that you can access the router that is setup as an access point
