The Neo still exhibits deficiencies, particularly with MKV rips
See my post on AVS here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showp...postcount=4974 Since the Neo and the Dune use the same SOC the difference should not be there. While I prefer BDMV over MKV many users prefer MKV, one reason I posted here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showp...4&postcount=33 For now I will stay with BDMV |

What kind of deficiencies? With the exception of my concert dvd isos, my collection is all MKV and they work great. Perhaps you can provide some Media Info on some of the problematic MKVs?

I looked at the post but it made no mention of any issues with MKV and once I read "The Dune is far more capable compared to the Neo" I figured I'd read enough.

I hope the Neo SW engineers would be more diligent. |

got a Popcorn Hour C-200, which is also the same SOC, and its "birth" has also been awful at the beginning (so many problems). NTV550 is a young product, so just leave it some times for firmware to grow and I'm pretty sure we'll get a top product, as usual with Netgear.

My preference is BD folder and occasional .ISO and my experience with BD folders is very good. The problem with the Neo freezing on VC1/THD in MKV was first posted by high-definitely and myself several months ago. It should be fixed for those folks who use .MKV almost exclusively. The combination of VC1 and DB THD is popular, all the Harry Potter HDDVD series for example, 2001, Blade Runner in BD format to name others. |
