Post Cant Login to 192.168.1.1/ 0.1 on D834GT router

Hi,

I recieved a D834GT from my new ISP(SKY) and i have two major problems. First of all is that i cannot login to the confiuration because the default username and password do not work. I have tried admin and the pw as password and also 1234 but with no success, it asks for it 3 times and then says contact administrator. I have not changed anything to do with the router so i dont see why its different. I have tried ressetting to factory settings but the same happens.

Also the internet connection keeps randomly dropping and i have to keep resetting it to get it to come back on. I think this may be fixed with a firmware upgrade but i cannot do it cos i cant login to the config.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium with all latest drivers etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Was the router provided by your ISP? if so you might need to contact them or just simply hard reset router.
that you should bring back to factory default but I'm sure. I seen many SKY post here.. search others

The Sky router user interface login is as follows:

User Name: admin
Password: sky

Glad that helped.

While you're in there turn off UPnP (there's a fault in Sky's firmware) and it should end the intermittent loss of connection.

This router seems to get quite warm in use -- the popular wisdom is to use the little feet they supply and mount the unit vertically which seems to cool it off and some people report that this aids reliable connections.

You might try posting your query on www.skyuser.co.uk -- there are lots of guys on that forum who know more about networking and telephony than I do.
