IMO the best thing to do with this letter or any similar letters is to actually send them directly to the Netgear corporate offices ..
![]() (With all due respect - please don't assume someone who really really cares or could actually do something runs or reads these forums - obviously Netgear is huge company with many divisions & departments) NETGEAR HEADQUARTERS NETGEAR Inc. 350 East Plumeria Drive San Jose, California 95134-1911 Corporate Office Phone: (408) 907-8000 Corporate Office Fax: (408) 907-8097 Someone could print and fax the letter or write their own or ad to it perhaps. I'm afraid that the powers that be - (the folks that really might be interested in this aren't receiving the information and have delegated the responsibility to a group that either;
Bottom line .. if the right folks at Netgear receive this information (someone who actually cares or perhaps works in the marketing department) maybe even the CEO or president of the company then things might start to happen or change, this NEOTV550 is obviously a profitable product for Netgear and a potential cash cow with which they could corner the market if they play their cards right. I for one intended to purchase several more of the units and intended on suggesting it to family, friends, associates, etc. I'm not willing to go out on a limb though for something that has a mixed reception and mixed stability and some obvious no-brainer bugs that should be getting corrected in a timely fashion. I'll stick to the WDTV Live Hub if need be for my own backup plan, though i'd prefer the NTV 550. For the being i'm taking the wait and see what happens approach. - I'd also suggest that anyone contacting the corporate offices put ample emphasis on the importance of "FIRMWARE" support / updates and improvements to correct known bugs / and issues. Its somewhat disheartening when a firmware from several months ago works better for key features than the latest firmware release. |

I can't recall where I first saw the approach I've been preaching to my engineers and researchers for years:
My message to Netgear: Neo stage #1 is close enough to being done. Time for #2!
